Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Canada Day!

And while I am posting I wish everyone a Happy Independance Day on July 4th.

Lately I have noticed my website loading a little slower then normal so I did some investigating and found the culprit behind it.  It seems like Blog Catalog’s Javascript was really slowing down the website loading time. So I dropped them - I was not seeing the significant of traffic from them anyway.

The website was laid out to load the right side of the website before the left side really slowing down performance so I re-structured the website to load faster. It is amazing how the structure of the design can really increase and decrease performance.  Better performance usually results in better conversions.

Along with the new website structure I changed the tag cloud structure on the front page. Now keywords appear larger depending on how many advertisements are associated with that keyword. They are grouped by this number too.

That means keywords with more advertisements appear higher and bigger.

I am getting back in the swing of things here. I have several goals to achieve by the end of June which are:

• Have 3,000 Friends on Facebook
• Have 1,000 Friends join The Social Millionaire Group

This month I am already about half way on all of these goals and some other goals I have set for myself.

One of my other goals was to re-write the sales letter on The Social Millionaire’s Buy Keywords page to give actual proof that my system is generating visitors, sales and leads to those who have been brave enough to spend $5 to try out my advertising system.

One point I make in the new sales letter is:

I can only achieve my goal if you achieve yours!

This is extremely powerful and motivating for me! To achieve my goal of a million dollars I need to make sure all of my customers are happy and seeing a return on their investment. If they see a return in the investment they will most likely re-invest into the system.

There seems to be a lot of talk about Social Networks and the new “social web”.

My question is how are you embracing social networks for your company?

Phew - why do I need sleep? If only I could work all day long

To most of you it would look like I have stopped caring about The Social Millionaire or that I have already failed. If I was on your end I would agree about 90% with you.

The problem is you guys only see a very very small fraction of what I am doing. I am really working hard to make The Social Millionaire the next big thing. I have already invested a lot of money and time and so far everything I have invested in terms of advertising has already seen a significant return so why would I stop?

I am in the process of building something extremely viral and huge!!!

Once it is complete I will resume on blogs reviewing my website.

I am so excited with where The Social Millionaire is going!!!

It has been just over two months since I launched The Social Millionaire. Time to stop and take a look and see where I am.

I have sold $3,362.15 worth of advertisements and have 668 friends. Although the amount of advertisements is not as high as I would like to see my number of friends has been growing rapidly. Mostly from being active in the social networks I am apart of.

The last two days I have spent joining Facebook and MySpace groups. I am trying to become more active in the social networks in which I am apart of.

I am extremely surprised of the out come so far and in this short amount of time almost 70 people have added me as a friend and I am meeting some very interesting people just by being a little more social.

Somewhere along the line web businesses lost the price tag on their product or service.

Businesses started handing our their service and products for free hoping eventually it would go viral. They could then charge for a premium price or upsell them onto another product.

I am starting to think this is the wrong way to go about it. Start charging from day one - build up some capital, use it to expand and grow.

There is a reason why Amazon and eBay are making a ton of money. There are scripts available for people to start their own auction website like eBay so why hasn’t anyone created a platform where sellers could list their products for free? I am sure a lot of people have, unfortunately they can not survive because the cost eventually out weighs the revenue keeping it free.

What do you think - can you make money by offering a free service and hoping the money eventually comes in or do you start charging right away?

Sorry for not updating again in a while! I am getting bad for that

I have been really busy with the companies I am involved with so no news from me is good news! I have been side tracked from promoting the Social Millionaire but I want to re-assure you that this month I should see a nice stream of traffic and sales later in the month.

I just registered for Web Weekend in May like 10 minutes ago. Here are some details:

The concept is simple. A bunch of people who don’t know each other get together for a weekend with one goal: launch a (web) product and start a company by Sunday night, from scratch. Participants get shares in the company according to how much time they spend building it. It is a creative experiment and a great networking opportunity.

I am very excited to be able to participate in it. I would never have the chance to participate in an event like this in Halifax.

P.S. - It took me 3 times to get this post live… Not a huge fan of the new Word press! Anyone else try it?
